Tale of a Scout
Sent to the depths,
climber of heights
a scout does not live in fear.
Able to sniff out a mirage
a scout seeks
only truth.
Every tribe needs a scout
more scouts
the better.
When a tribe invalidates a scout
they risk
survival.
A tribe without a scout is blind;
food for predators.
A tribe of scouts
sees and makes
the future
bright.
So scout on.

Wrong Way
Today a shaky old lady
told me
I was going
the wrong way.
I asked her to repeat
even though
I heard right
the first time.
And then I continued on my path.
When you go along
with peddling fear
you serve
the predator.
The longer one lives
in denial
the more suffering
in store.
Suffering
leads us
back to God.
So suffer
suffer
suffer more.
Our graduated loved ones
forever
cheer us on
one cannot
get the path wrong.

Your picture appeared
after so many years
I have to admit that it made me smile
that patented wild look
in your designer swim suit
all sprawled out
next to our donut spread
thankfully those green laser eyes were covered
at any time
my body
still
floats in your arms in the water
you were the first
brave enough
to test ride
my freed heart fire
I still carry
the green tourmaline
to calm anxiety
blowing in
prior to break up thunderstorms
on veil thin days
I feel
my giant daughter
